Radhika Apte is seen in the role of Lajjo, a childless woman who struggles with the patriarchal culture. Along with Lajjo, the movie features other bold women characters who unapologetically open up about their sex lives, men, and life in general as they struggle with their boundaries. Apte received the Best Actress award at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and Melbourne for her role in this film.
5. Lust Stories
In this anthology film, Apte is seen in Anurag Kashyap’s segment essaying the role of Kalindi Dasgupta, a college professor who engages in a one-night stand with a student. This segment sheds light on modern relationships from the viewpoint of women. Apte received the International Emmy Award for Best Actress for her role in the segment.
