Actor Sidharth Malhotra, who appeared as a guest on the popular chat reality show ‘Koffee With Karan 6’ in 2019, opened up about his breakup with Alia Bhatt. The actor stated that their relationship is cordial and that he isn’t upset over the split.
During the episode, Karan questioned Sidharth whether he was seeing his ‘A Gentleman’ co-star Jacqueline Fernandez after parting ways with Alia. Sid talked extensively about his relationship with Alia after he stated he shares an excellent bond with Jacky.
Sidharth opened up about his life post breaking up with Alia Bhatt and shared, “I don’t think it (our relationship) is bitter. I think we haven’t really met after that to be honest. And it is civil. It’s been a while. It happens. It is like any other relationship. I have known her (Alia) for much longer. I did know her even before we were dating. Not that we met as a particular girlfriend-boyfriend thing. So it’ll remain. It is just a matter of coming back whether it is work, whether it is socialising.”
Sidharth continued by saying that he prefers to preserve happy memories of his time spent with Alia. He said, “I’ve given my first ever shot with her. We were doing that “Radha” song and that twirl. There so much memory and history.”
The actor further added, “There’s been enough time and there’s a reason why two people decide not to be together. There were lots of ups and downs. When you take yourself away from a particular situation and experience, you only think of the good after the event or relationship. So, (there are) all good and happy memories. I’m happy.”
For the unversed, Sidharth and Alia, who made their debut in Bollywood with Karan Johar’s directorial film ‘Student of the Year’, were rumoured to be dating each other ever since the film released in 2012.
After ‘Student of the Year’, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt also worked together in ‘Kapoor & Sons’ before parting ways. They started dating in 2016 but broke up a year later.
While Alia is currently married to Ranbir Kapoor, Sidharth tied the knot with Kiara Advani on February 07, 2023.
