Shoojit Sircar’s directorial Piku depicts the deep bond between a father and an independent daughter. Starring Deepika Padukone as Piku and Amitabh Bachchan as Bhashkor Banerjee (father of Piku). The film showcased how a daughter takes care of her ailing father and also fulfills his wish to go on a road trip from Delhi to Kolkata. Released in 2015, the film also stars Irrfan Khan, Moushumi Chatterjee, Jisshu Sengupta, Sajal Bhattacharya, Akshay Oberoi, Swaroopa Ghosh and Sumanto Chattopadhyay in key roles.
