Christian Bale and Jessie Buckley are unrecognisable as they transformed into their creepy characters for Frankenstein’s The Bride! trailer.

Christian, 51, plays the lead role of Dr Frankenstein’s monster in the highly anticipated movie, which is officially released on March 6, 2026.

Irish actress Jessie, 35, plays his freaky bride as the pair go on the run together to avoid the authorities.

A new two-minute trailer shows the duo as they don their toe-curling creepy looks, with Christian unrecognisable.

He spiked his hair up with the Frankenstein stapled scar across his forehead and several scars on his face. 

The movie is set in 1930s Chicago when lonely Frankenstein asks Annette Bening’s character Dr Euphronious to create a companion for him.

His ‘bride’ is born when the two revive a murdered young woman, which paves the way for a romance surrounded by murder and possession.

As she awakes once more, her new companion eagerly stands over her, muttering the words: ‘There is nothing left to do now, but live.’ 

Maggie Gyllenhaal has written, directed and produced the new adaption, which is based on Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel.

The Bride also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Oscar winner Penélope Cruz.

Film fans have been left impressed by the trailer, with one writing: ‘Looks like they’re turning Frankenstein’s monster and his bride into Bonnie and Clyde. I’ll definitely watch!’

A second said: ‘Both a Frankenstein movie and now The Bride, we getting fed.’

However, not everyone was impressed, as one watcher declared: ‘Wow, looks like they really rushed out the sequel; Poor Things 2.’

Another blasted: ‘I’m hoping this is an A.I. spoof and not a real thing.’

The Bride marks an on-screen reunion for Christian and Jessie, who previously worked together in 2008 Batman film The Dark Night.

Ahead of the movie going into production, Christian opened up about going bald for the role during a ceremony for the California foster homes in 2024.

He said: ‘I’ve got to shave my head next week [for a movie]. I asked them to please let me hold off on doing that but everyone was going, “What’s wrong with Bale? What’s up with him?”

‘I said, “Just let me get through the groundbreaking and then I’ll be off to join you,”‘ Bale said, adding he was starting preparations soon.’

Christian continued: ”I’ll be working with the wonderful Maggie, Jessie and so many talented actors in the cast.

‘I’ve got to get busy getting on the rack, breaking my bones and eating lots of fertilizer or something to try and grow.

Last year Christian and Jessie were snapped shooting night scenes in New York for the film. 

Jessie could be seen as she wore a harness as both her and Christian scaled a building in a dramatic scene.

She held out a green umbrella as Christian attempted to climb up the building to her.

Christian was forced to shave his head completely bald ahead of filming for the new twisted movie, which is released on March 6, 2026

The pair later ran off together through the dark streets of the city before taking a break and chatting with crew members.

Between takes, Christian was crowded by the films makeup team as they touched up his incredible Frankenstein makeup. 

Jessie transformed into the spookiest bride by switching up her tresses for a crazy grey permed wig and rocked a wild black lipstick look.

She caught the eye in a orange short sleeved midi dress which she teamed with quirky vintage red heeled boots.
