The highly acclaimed film, The Theory of Everything, starring Eddie Redmayne as the renowned physicist Stephen Hawking, has recently been added to Netflix, sparking widespread excitement among film fans.

Initially released in 2014, the movie is based on the memoir Traveling to Infinity: My Life With Stephen Hawking, written by Jane Hawking, and offers a poignant portrayal of Hawking’s life, including his battle with motor neurone disease.

Redmayne’s stunning performance as Hawking earned him widespread critical acclaim, with Felicity Jones also delivering a powerful performance as Jane Hawking.

The film boasts an all-star cast, including Charlie Cox, David Thewlis, Emily Watson, Maxine Peake, Harry Lloyd, Charlotte Hope, and Simon McBurney.

The film’s synopsis reads: “In the 1960s, Cambridge University student and future physicist Stephen Hawking falls in love with fellow collegian Jane Wilde. At 21, Hawking learns that he has motor neuron disease. Despite this – and with Jane at his side – he begins an ambitious study of time, of which he has very little left, according to his doctor.

“He and Jane defy terrible odds and break new ground in the fields of medicine and science, achieving more than either could hope to imagine.”

Upon its initial release, The Theory of Everything garnered widespread critical acclaim, with Redmayne’s powerful performance receiving particular praise, reports Surrey Live.

One film critic wrote: “Redmayne’s physical performance astounds, and Jones makes a wonderfully empathetic female lead. If only their performances were part of a better treatment of this worthy subject.”

Another reviewer remarked: “The Theory of Everything may not tear a rip in the cinematic space-time continuum, but as an intimate drama about two people struggling with a life they never expected, it has real power.”

A movie enthusiast commented: “And Oscar winning performance for the ages to go along with an Oscar deserving performance by Felicity Jones, Theory Of Everything touches on the incomparable life of one of the last influential humans of our time.”

Meanwhile, another praised: “This was excellent. The story was moving, tragic, and exceptional when talking about the life of Stephen Hawking.

“The performance by Eddie Redmayne was phenomenal and really captured the idea of the famous physicist.”
