Life of Pi is a film adaptation of Yann Martel’s novel, telling the story of a young Indian boy, Pi Patel, who is stranded in the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. After a shipwreck, Pi survives for 227 days on a lifeboat, forming an unexpected bond with the tiger. The film was a commercial success, earning 11 Academy Award nominations and winning four, including Best Director and Best Cinematography.
