From her first appearance to her most recent film, here’s where to watch every Madea movie
For 20 years, Tyler Perry’s Madea has delivered laughs, tough love and some valuable life lessons in between.
First hitting screens in Diary of a Mad Black Woman in 2005, Madea has since appeared in over a dozen feature films, including Madea Goes to Jail, A Madea Christmas and Madea’s Destination Wedding, which premiered on Netflix July 11.
Madea, short for Mabel Simmons, is the no-filter grandmother figure fans have grown to love. Fiercely protective of her family, quick with a one-liner and never afraid to swing her purse — or pull out a pistol — she’s a larger-than-life presence who was made up and played by Perry himself.
The screenwriter admits that fans just can’t get enough of the character, which has prompted many movies through the years. As he said on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace in 2022, “as long as people want to see it, [Madea] will be around.”
So, whether you’re a longtime fan or brand new to the saga, here’s where to stream every Madea movie.
