Frozen 3 will skate into theaters on Nov. 24, 2027.
The official date came days after Walt Disney Animation’s chief creative officer Jennifer Lee shared the first concept art for Frozen 3 at D23, where she also revealed it would arrive in cinemas sometime in 2027.
As previously announced, she confirmed a fourth film is also in the works.
The Frozen franchise has been a boon for Disney and a Thanksgiving staple; 2013’s Frozen, starring Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, earned $1.28 billion, while Frozen II (2019) brought in $1.45 billion.
Frozen 3 was originally set to open in 2026, but like many event pics, faced delays due to the pandemic and the strikes. Lee wrote and co-directed the first two film with Chris Buck.
The Frozen films tell the tale of two royal sisters who are orphaned when their parents, the king and queen of Arendelle. Elsa, voiced by Menzel, is anointed queen but her dangerous icey powers pose major challenges. Bell voices, Anna, her beloved younger sisters.
The art shown at D23 featured Elsa riding separately on a horse, while Anna was on a horse with Olaf, the wildly popular snowman voiced by Josh Gad.
Disney also announced that Pixar’s Hoppers will arrive on March 6, 2026. The feature was announced at D23, and voice stars Jon Hamm and Bobby Moynihan in body-swap movie about a beaver and a human who exchange bodies.
And the studios reaffirmed the new title of Jamess Cameron’s upcoming 20th Century movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash, which hits theaters Dec. 19, 2025.
