Kate Winslet is poised to make her feature film directorial debut with the upcoming Netflix family drama, Goodbye June.
In addition to directing, Winslet will also produce and star in the film, which boasts an impressive cast, including Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall, and Helen Mirren.
Notably, Winslet’s son, Joe Anders, has penned the screenplay, and her longtime producer will co-produce the project.
Netflix describes Goodbye June as a heartwarming yet humorous drama that follows a fractured group of siblings as they come together under challenging circumstances.
Set in present-day England, production is slated to begin soon across the UK. The announcement has generated buzz on Reddit, with fans expressing excitement about the star-studded cast and Winslet’s foray into directing.

The film has been a hit with fans, earning a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Kate’s stellar performance in the film earned her nominations for Best Actress at both the Golden Globe Awards and AACTA International Awards.
Furthermore, Lee was nominated by BAFTA for Outstanding British Film.
