College football analyst Kirk Herbstreit is taking a lot of heat on social media this week for his controversial movie review.
A few days ago, former WFAN Radio host Mike Francesa made it clear that he hated the new “Superman” film. Not only was he critical of director James Gunn’s political references, he thought Superman was pretty weak compared to previous iterations of the character.
“For someone who’s an old-time, TV show ‘Superman’ guy trying to get entertained for a couple hours and wants to see Superman, this movie was pure torture to sit through,” Francesa said. “If my name was on the credits, I’d hide it, that’s how bad it was… This was unmitigated garbage.”
Herbstreit agreed wit Francesa’s opinion of “Superman.” In fact, he ripped the latest film from DC Studios.
“Agree with EVERY sentence he says. Movie was AWFUL,” Herbstreit wrote on X.

Some college football fans were shocked by Herbstreit’s movie review. They assumed he’d like “Superman” because Krypto the Superdog is in it.
“You would think he would relate to a movie where Superman brings his dog with him to work and it annoys everyone around him,” one fan said.
“I’m always so surprised to see people who aren’t comic book movie people hate good comic book movies,” a second person sarcastically replied.
“Both of you never read the comics. Krypto is in the comics,” another fan wrote.
For what it’s worth, Francesa and Herbstreit are in the minority when it comes to their opinions on “Superman.” As of now, 93% of audience reviews on Rotten Tomatoes are positive.
With that said, it’s safe to assume Herbstreit won’t check out any “Superman” sequels from DC Studios.
