The movie “The End We Start From” depicts the UK being overwhelmed by severe climate change consequences. Jodie Comer plays a young mother struggling to care for her newborn baby amidst catastrophic flooding in London.

The film features Killing Eve star Jodie Comer, with Joel Fry playing her husband ‘R’, and a cameo from Benedict Cumberbatch. The gripping tale of survival was brought to the screen by Alice Birch, who adapted it from Megan Hunter’s 2017 novel The End We Start From.
Benedict Cumberbatch’s company SunnyMarch, in partnership with Hera Pictures, secured the rights to the book – hence his brief appearance. While the film’s themes are rooted in dystopian fiction, many viewers saw it as a chilling prediction of what the future could hold for our country.
