Even after playing a sorceress on Wheel of Time, Rosamund Pike still has a few more tricks up her sleeve. The actor is the latest to join the cast of Lionsgate’s Now You See Me 3, the upcoming installment of the magic heist franchise.
She’s among a number of newcomers to the series, following Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa and Ariana Greenblatt. The actors join Now You See Me mainstays expected to return that include Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman. Details of Pike’s role are being kept under wraps.
Louis Leterrier directed the first Now You See Me movie, which was released in 2013 and followed the Four Horsemen, a group of magicians known for their heist skills. It earned $351.7 million globally, and spawned a Jon M. Chu-directed sequel, released in 2016 and which brought in $334.8 million globally.
Venom and Uncharted director Ruben Fleischer is helming from a script by Eric Warren Singer, Seth Grahame-Smith and Mike Lesslie. Bobby Cohen and Alex Kurtzman are producing, with Meredith Wieck and Erin Jones-Wesley overseeing for Lionsgate.
Gone Girl star Pike was recently nominated for BAFTA and Golden Globes for her work in Saltburn, in next leads the psychological thriller Hallow Road. She plays the sorceress Moiraine Damodred in Amazon’s The Wheel of Time series, which launches its third season next year.
