Sebastian Stan has debuted his brand new shaved head look as he promotes new MCU movie Thunderbolts*.

The star has buzzed his locks off for his newest role, which began production in a rural part of Norway in March.

Stan is currently promoting Thunderbolts*, and gave his new look a public outing at the world premiere for the movie yesterday, after fans spotted it during the press conference over the weekend.

The new outing sees Stan reprise his role as Bucky Barnes, now a US senator as seen in Captain America: Brave New World. He’s reluctantly pulled back into the superhero world though when a deadly new threat emerges.

The movie Stan shaved his hair for is the drama Fjord, the first English-language film from Romanian director Cristian Mungiu.

Set in a remote Norwegian village, the film follows two families — one Swedish-Norwegian, the other Romanian newcomers — who meet as their children attend the same school, and bond over the struggles of parenthood (via Cineuropa).

However, the two families have very different ideas on social values, and suspicions start to arise that the Romanian couple are harming their kids.

Fjord is described as an examination of the cultural differences when a close-knit community mindset clashes with a globalised one, as well as the “boundaries of personal privacy” and tolerance.

Ahead of Thunderbolts*‘s release this week, early reactions have called it a strong film that’s one of Marvel’s darkest and most emotional.

Director Jake Schreier recently shared that the movie takes inspiration from one particular devastating scene from Toy Story 3.

Thunderbolts* is released in UK cinemas on 1 May and in US cinemas on 2 May.
