How many post-credits scenes does the Super Mario Galaxy movie have?
How long will you have to stay back after the credits roll?
The Super Mario Galaxy movie is right around the corner with it set to hit theatres on April 1 here in the UK, and following early press screenings, excitement is through the roof.
With the plot following on from 2023’s incredibly successful first film, Super Mario Galaxy is set to introduce plenty more classic characters from Nintendo’s beloved series, including Bowser Jr, Yoshi, and Rosalina.
Early reviews aren’t quite out yet for Illumination’s latest animated adventure, but there are a few details we can glean from press screenings that have taken place so far. In fact, one attendee has revealed exactly how many post-credit scenes we can expect to see at the end of the movie.

Popularised by the Marvel movies, more and more movies are starting to throw in their own take on the post-credit scene, and the first Mario movie was no different. Back in 2023, we were treated to a hint at Yoshi’s inclusion in the sequel, which we’re now finally seeing the fruits of.
It looks like Super Mario Galaxy will be no different with one creator confirming that there’s not just one post-credit scene to look forward to, but two.
Matt Ramos, a prominent film and TV personality, posted on X: “Super Mario Galaxy has 2 post credit scenes. You should definitely stay for both.” His caption was accompanied by a photo of him attending one of the early screenings of the Super Mario Galaxy movie.
We don’t know the true contents of these post-credit scenes just yet, but we can make a few educated guesses. It’s heavily rumoured that Nintendo could be working towards a Super Smash Bros movie in the future, especially with the roster of characters included in these movies starting to expand beyond the realms of Mario itself.
Last week, Nintendo revealed that Star Fox will be appearing in the Super Mario Galaxy movie. We also know that there’s a heavy lean on there being lots of different galaxies to explore in the movie, so it’s not out of the question that Illumination could start to pull from plenty of Nintendo’s other iconic properties.
We also know that Wario is expected to appear in this movie in some shape or form, as confirmed by an early leak from London-based cinema chain Everyman. A description of the movie in an early listing read: “Mario faces Wario and Bowser Jr.’s evil alliance.”
It could be that the character appears as part of the main movie’s events, but he could also appear in a post-credit scene teasing another spin-off movie in the same universe.
Whatever the post-credit scenes include, we’ll find out for real in the coming days. Will you be staying back to watch both post-credit scenes in the Super Mario Galaxy movie?
