If you’re anything like us, you binge-watched the entirety Too Hot To Handle when it dropped on Netflix back in April. You also watched Love Is Blind so long ago that, sadly, it feels like a distant memory (the good news there, though, is that it’s been commissioned for another two seasons – bring on more of the pod drama!)

But until then, there is a distinct lack of good old reality TV romance drama in our lives. And before you all scream in chorus ‘but what about Love Island?!’, we have tragic news: after a record number of applicants, Love Island 2020 was officially cancelled back in May because of Coronavirus. Although we’re guessing that, seeing as you’re here, you may well already know that.

While Kevin Lygo, Director of Television at ITV, said that the dating show ‘will be back stronger than ever in 2021’, we just cannot wait that long to get our reality TV dix. While Love Island may be tough viewing to beat, we’ve gone ahead and discovered a ton of relatively unknown reality series to keep your woes at bay.

From Temptation Island – a more explosive, less PG Love Island (yes, really) – to Netflix’s Dating Around and the newly released Queer Eye style What The Love! With Karan Johar, the reality TV scene continues to deliver entertainment gold. Expect larger-than-life personalities, major drama and a lot of cringeworthy dates.

And for the hardcore reality TV aficionados amongst you, don’t worry – we bet there are some shows here that even you haven’t heard of.

So, without further ado, here is your excuse to stay firmly planted on the sofa, crack open a bottle of vino, and get well and truly hooked on the real life dramz. You’re most welcome.
