The ‘Star Wars’ films in the Skywalker Saga have titles to describe the movie
With The Rise of Skywalker released and available for binge-watching on Disney’s streaming platform, the Skywalker Saga has finally drawn to a close. What started as one movie released decades ago grew to include a prequel trilogy, a sequel trilogy, and even a few animated television shows.
Each of the movies in the Skywalker Saga earned titles like The Empire Strikes Back and The Last Jedi. Still, one teenager on social media suggested that these titles don’t accurately describe what happens during the respective movies. The video on TikTok earned thousands of views, mostly from fans agreeing with switching the names around.
One TikTok user stated that these names are all wrong
Why have Attack of the Clones be the title if the clones really attack during Revenge of the Sith? Why wouldn’t Rey be the “new hope” for the Jedis, instead of Luke Skywalker? A Star Wars fan on TikTok, known as Fake Disney Facts, decided to rename these movies so they actually make sense.
The creator explains that the first Star Wars movie in the Skywalker Saga, titled The Phantom Menace should have been called The Rise of Skywalker. (He explains it’s a much better name to describe a movie where fans literally met Skywalker on his journey to be a Jedi.)
Conversely, The Rise of Skywalker should be called The Phantom Menace (how else would viewers describe the shadowy role of the resurrected Palpatine but as a “phantom menace?”) In between, the TikTok user switches all the titles of the Star Wars movies to better reflect their story.
Even Mark Hamill, the actor behind Luke Skywalker agreed. After watching the TikTok, he tweeted, “NOW it all makes sense!” The tweet earned over 75,000 likes from Star Wars fans across the world.
‘Star Wars’ movies are available for streaming on Disney+
Looks like Disney won’t be changing their Star Wars movie titles anytime soon. There’s still time for original Disney+ content, though, including the first-ever live-action series, The Mandalorian, which will premiere its season 2 within the upcoming months.
There’s also a series based on Obi-Wan Kenobi reportedly premiering on Disney’s subscription service. From Star Wars: The Phantom Menace to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, movies featuring Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, and Rey are available for binge-watching on Disney+.
