Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter’s Homebound Trailer Releasing On THIS Date

Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer Homebound has been creating waves internationally. And now finally makers are set to unveil its trailer. Announced today that the trailer will be released on September 17, building excitement for what promises to be an emotionally intense cinematic experience.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Karan Johar shared the poster and wrote, “All roads lead to home. #Homebound – trailer out tomorrow! In cinemas 26th September.” Hansal Mehta also praised the film. Homebound is releasing in India on September 26. Fans have also expressed their excitement in the comment section.

Karan Johar Reacts As Homebound Wins International People’s Choice Award At TIFF

Karan took to Instagram, where he shared the poster of the film, which stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor. He finds it surreal that the film was “accepted and appreciated” across the globe. The poster featured that the movie was the Second Runner Up at the 2025 International People’s Choice Award category at TIFF. “Always more special when it’s the people’s choice…Homebound, our film is a story we are all so so proud of and to see it being loved, accepted and appreciated across the globe, across language or any barriers – it is surreal! A big thank you to @tiff_net for giving us the platform.”

He then went on to thank National Award-winning filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan for allowing him to be a part of “Homebound.” “Congratulations to the entire team – this is only the beginning thank you @neeraj.ghaywan for allowing us to be a part of your labour of love,” wrote Karan.

About Homebound

The film, produced by Dharma Productions, follows two childhood friends from a small village in North India dream of becoming police officers, hoping the job will bring them the respect they never had. However, as they come closer to their goal, pressure and struggles create problems in their friendship.

Homebound saw a world premiere at Cannes

Homebound had a world premiere at Un Certain Regard section at Cannes 2025, which will run from May 14 to 25. Homebound marks filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan’s long-awaited return to the big screen and Cannes, especially a decade after his debut film Masaan premiered at the festival and won two awards. The Indian director spoke about his collaboration with Scorsese, “To have an icon like Mr Scorsese lend his name to Homebound is an honour beyond words. I’m deeply grateful to our co-producer Melita Toscan, who introduced us to him. Mr. Scorsese mentored us through the screenplay and multiple rounds of editing. He listened with care, understood the cultural context, and offered thoughtful, incisive notes each time. His kindness and commitment are extraordinary, and to have him nurture our film has been both a rare privilege and a profoundly humbling experience.”
