A charming new horror-tinged romantic comedy starring scream queen Melissa Barrera, Your Monster is the perfect Halloween comfort movie for fans of Lisa Frankenstein and The Shape of Water. Barrera plays Laura, a struggling actor recently dumped by her boyfriend, forcing her to return to her childhood home. It gets worse: her boyfriend is putting on a musical that she helped him create. Down on her luck, Laura is shocked to discover a monster living in her closet and even more surprised when he becomes just what she needs.
Kelsey Abille and Finn Wittrock star in this Sam Raimi-produced thriller film about a woman on the run from a killer, but with a unique catch. He injects her with a paralytic agent that will shut her body down over the course of 20 minutes, meaning she only has that long to escape as her limbs slowly stop working one by one.
A new show that stars Judith Light and Billy Crystal, do you really need any more incentive to watch? While not fully horror, Before is a psychological thriller about a child psychiatrist struggling to come to terms with the death of his late wife, further complicated by the haunting connection he forges with a troubled young patient. Apple will drop the first two episodes this Friday and then one per week after that.
