You truly never know what you’ll get with Netflix in any given month. Personally, I expected an onslaught of romantic movies for Valentine’s Day, but instead, subscribers will receive an eclectic mix of action movies, slapstick comedies and animation, including: an outrageous comedy starring Amy Schumer about a woman who fakes pregnancy, a continuation of The Witcher universe through one of its most beloved short stories, and the Netflix premiere of the latest entry into one of the most successful animated franchises of our time. All in all, the streamer presents lots of intriguing options that will cater to a wide variety of movie tastes.

So what can you expect? What movies should capture your attention the most? I’ve gone through February’s entire catalog and picked out the five most exciting options. Then at the bottom of the this article, you can find a full list of every single new movie on Netflix this month. Happy movie watching!

The Best New Movies And Shows On Netflix In February 2025

Kinda Pregnant (2025)

Who hasn’t felt left out when their friends hit major life milestones? Well, the protagonist of Netflix’s latest comedy takes it to an extreme that, if Amy Schumer has anything to do with it, will be both hilarious and cringeworthy. Schumer returns to Netflix on Feb. 5 with Kinda Pregnant, a film that follows her character Lainy, who becomes jealous when her best friend becomes pregnant. Instead of dealing with her emotions in a healthy way, Lainy impulsively straps on a fake baby bump, pretending to be expecting as well. What starts as an absurd ruse soon snowballs into a full-blown deception—complicated by the fact that she meets the perfect guy while still sporting the phony belly.

Schumer is no stranger to blending awkward social situations with sharp humor, so if you enjoyed Trainwreck or I Feel Pretty, I believe this film will be right up your alley. She leads a strong ensemble of comedic talent, including Jillian Bell, Will Forte, Damon Wayans Jr., Brianne Howey, Alex Moffat, Joel David Moore, Lizze Broadway and Urzila Carlson. Premiering on Feb. 5, the film is directed by Tyler Spindel (The Out-Laws) and co-written by Schumer and Julie Paiva.

Aftermath (2024)

On Feb. 10, Dylan Sprouse uncharacteristically takes on a gritty lead role, stepping away from his comedic roots for an intense performance in a film that will make its SVOD debut on Netflix. Aftermath is an action-packed thriller that follows a war veteran battling PTSD (Sprouse) as he finds himself in a high-stakes hostage situation. Trapped on a bridge with his teenage sister, he must confront an ex-military revolutionist who has taken control, forcing him into a fight for survival.

Though reviews have been mixed, with some critics noting a lack of cohesion in the script, Aftermath positions itself as an exciting watch for those who enjoy adrenaline-fueled action with psychological drama at its core. The film, directed by Patrick Lussier and written by Nathan Graham Davis, features Sprouse, Mason Gooding, Dichen Lachman, Megan Stott and Ashley Pynn.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep (2025)

The world of The Witcher is expanding once again with The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, an animated feature that plunges into the depths of the Continent’s history and continues Netflix’s growing collection of Witcher adaptations. Set between Episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher Season 1, this new installment dives into one of Andrzej Sapkowski’s most beloved short stories: Geralt of Rivia, the infamous monster hunter known as the White Wolf, is called to investigate a series of violent attacks in a remote seaside village. However, what initially seems like a routine hunt for a rogue creature quickly turns into something far more complicated. Geralt finds himself caught in the middle of a centuries-old feud between humans and merpeople, where tensions are on the verge of boiling over into all-out war.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep premieres on Feb. 11, 2025. The cast includes Doug Cockle (from The Witcher video games) as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra (from live-action series) as Yennefer of Vengerberg and Christina Wren (perhaps most known for Man of Steel) as Essi Daven, a newcomer to the Witcher universe.

La Dolce Villa (2025)

Romance, comedy, and scenic Italian countryside? La Dolce Villa has all the ingredients for a feel-good escape. This new romantic comedy, starring Scott Foley and Maia Reficco, arrives on Netflix February 13, bringing a heartwarming story of family and unexpected love just in time for Valentine’s Day. The film follows Eric (Scott Foley), a practical businessman who doesn’t believe in impulsive decisions—especially ones that involve purchasing a crumbling villa in the Italian countryside. But when his free-spirited daughter, Olivia (Maia Reficco), spends her life savings on a one-euro property, he rushes to Italy to talk some sense into her. But he unexpectedly drawn to the magic of Italy—and to Francesca (Violante Placido), a local woman with her own story of reinvention.

Shot on location in Rome, Tuscany, and Lazio, La Dolce Villa aims to capture the undeniable beauty of Italy, transporting viewers to rolling vineyards, historic villages and picturesque villas. And with with Mark Waters, the man who directed comedies like Mean Girls and Freaky Friday, at the helm, we can expect the film to blend humor and romance effortlessly, ensuring plenty of laughs and touching moments.

Despicable Me 4 (2024)

The Despicable Me franchise absolute dominates the Netflix platform, with the first and second film of the series have combining for 367 total appearances on the Top 10 charts. And I can only imagine that will continue with Despicable Me 4, which is moving from Peacock to Netflix for a ten-month window. Gru (Steve Carell) returns as a dedicated agent of the Anti-Villain League (AVL), living a peaceful life with his wife, Lucy (Kristen Wiig), and their children. However, things take a turn when he reunites with Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell), a vengeful former classmate who has transformed himself into a cockroach-powered supervillain. After Gru thwarts Maxime’s latest scheme, Maxime escapes prison and sets out on a personal mission, targeting Gru’s infant son with a mutation ray that turns people into cockroach hybrids.

The film, which hits the Netflix platform on Feb. 28, sports an insane all-star cast that also includes: Joey King as Poppy Prescott, Sofía Vergara as Valentina, Stephen Colbert as Perry Prescott, Chloe Fineman as Patsy Prescott, Miranda Cosgrove as Margo, Dana Gaier as Edith, Madison Polan as Agnes, Tara Strong as Gru Jr., Steve Coogan as Silas Ramsbottom, Pierre Coffin as the Minions, and Chris Renaud as Principal Frau Übelschlecht.
