April 12, 20242 Mins Read

Paramount Pictures has just announced at CinemaCon all kinds of news that have left the audience speechless. From a crossover between G.I.Joe and Transformers to an adult movie of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, including a new project from the creators of South Park with Kendrick Lamar, the studio has undoubtedly revealed everything.

Among all those projects, there is a very special one that arises from the alliance between Paramount and Miramax. Both companies reached an agreement to carry out joint projects, and the first of them has been a new installment of Scary Movie, the horror franchise that was a hit in the 2000s.

What will we see in Scary Movie 6?

The shooting of the new movie for this year has been confirmed, although no further details about its production have been revealed. With five movies already, Scary Movie has parodied all kinds of genre films, such as Saw or Signs, as well as other related movies like Matrix or Black Swan. But after so many years, which movies will Scary Movie 6 satirize?

We can think of recent successes that are already very parodiable in themselves, such as M3GAN and Five Nights at Freddy’s, as well as the great films by Ari Aster Hereditary and Midsommar, or Jordan Peele’s Get Out, Us, and Nope. If they wanted to, they could even parody Bird Box and A Quiet Place, similar and highly successful phenomena. There is no doubt that they have plenty to choose from.
