I love this time of year when Maine’s drive-in theaters are open and you can see a movie on the really big screen. It’s hard to believe at one time Maine had 39 drive-in theaters across the state. Today just 5 are in operation.
I remember my first trip to the Norway Drive-In in 1977 to see the movie everyone was talking about. Star Wars. Years later as an adult I bought this shirt and still wear it.
The drive-in was actually in Oxford, but that’s a normal thing for the Oxford Hills. Today, Norway Soft Serve is in the old Grand Trunk Railroad station in South Paris. Residents of the Oxford Hills aren’t that far from the Bridgton Twin Drive-in though.
So what’s playing at Maine’s drive-ins this weekend? Here’s the list, but I left out the Madawaska Drive-In because I don’t think anyone is going to drive to almost Canada for a movie.
Bridgton Twin Drive-In Theater – Screen 1
The Garfield Movie
Labyrinth (1986)
Screen 2
Bad Boys: Ride or Die

I love this lineup. A little something for everyone including some classics from the 70s and 80s with Jaws and Labyrinth. Go see a movie at the drive-in this weekend.
