A first look at Loki star Tom Hiddleston in Mike Flanagan’s upcoming film The Life of Chuck has been unveiled.
The Life of Chuck, which is based on a short story by Stephen King and directed and written by The Haunting of Hill House‘s Flanagan, will see Hiddleston take on the lead role of Charles Krantz, whose life story will be told in reverse.
The film will begin with the character’s death from a brain tumour at the age of 39, before looking backwards through his life and ending at his childhood in a supposedly haunted house.

The first-look photo for the film shows Hiddleston’s character – who sports a suit, tie, and glasses – on a billboard, which reads: “39 great years! Thanks Chuck!”
Flanagan also took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the photo with fans and confirm that the film will premiere at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) this September.
“I’m so excited to unveil THE LIFE OF CHUCK at TIFF,” the filmmaker wrote. “My career essentially started there in 2013 with OCULUS, so this feels like a homecoming. (Also, friendly reminder that LIFE OF CHUCK is not a horror film)”.

The Life of Chuck also stars fellow Marvel actors Karen Gillan and Chiwetel Ejiofor, as well as Star Wars‘ Mark Hamill, Scream’s Matthew Lillard, Oppenheimer‘s David Dastmalchian and The Little Mermaid’s Jacob Tremblay.
Rounding out the cast are Kate Siegel, Mia Sara, Avatar: The Way of Water‘s Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Q’orianka Kilcher, Antonio Raul Corbo and What We Do in the Shadows‘ Harvey Guillén.
In other news, Tom Hiddleston’s next movie Tenzing, in which he’ll star alongside Kinds of Kindness‘ Willem Dafoe, was recently acquired by Apple Original Films, meaning it will likely be released on the big screen before eventually landing on the Apple TV+ streaming service.
