Nearly two dozen films will enjoy their Garden State premieres at the 43rd Bi-Annual New Jersey Film Festival, which takes place at Rutgers University on weekends between Sept. 6 and Oct. 18.
Among the films is the steamy romance “A Reunion in 4 Parts”; the documentary “A Girl Can Touch the Sky” which re-examines traditional gender roles; the documentary “A. P. Giannini,” the story of how the son of Italian immigrants became the founder of Bank of America; and the comedy “All You Need is Blood.”
General admission tickets are $15, $10 for students. A festival pass, good for virtual and in-person screenings, is $120.
All films will be available virtually for 24 hours on their show date. In-person screenings take place at 5 or 7 p.m. at Rutgers University’s Voorhees Hall, #105, 71 Hamilton St., New Brunswick.

Directors, producers and actors will be present at some of the film screenings. Tickets can be purchased at newjerseyfilmfestivalfall2024.eventive.org.
The 21 films were selected out of more than 400 submitted works. Judges will choose a winning film, which will be announced on social media on Sunday, Sept. 29.
Prize-winning films from June’s New Jersey International Film Festival will be screened on Friday, Oct. 4.

At 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 at Voorhees Hall, festival director Al Nigrin will present a retrospective of his films as a benefit for the New Jersey Media Arts Center. Tickets are $15.
Noise-ambient musician Jim Haynes will perform Friday, Oct. 18, in a show that will accompany projections of experimental films.
