This week’s new movies on VOD are a wild assortment of fantasy, action, and (stoner) comedy, among other things. Among some of our top picks are the A24 fantasy The Legend of Ochi and the action comedy Wolfs starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt.
This week also marks the arrival of Cheech & Chong’s Last Movie which is, as you may have guessed, likely to be Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong’s last movie. In their latest bud-dy movie, the two comedy icons head out for a road trip that’s kind of a documentary retrospective of their career, with their signature brand of humor that’s laced with…something.

Written and directed by Isaiah Saxon in his feature film debut, The Legend of Ochi is a new A24 fantasy adventure about a girl named Yuri (Helena Zengel) who has been brought up to fear the Ochi, a monkey-like creature that lives on the secluded island where she lives. When Yuri encounters an injured baby Ochi, she embarks on a quest to return it to its family. The film co-stars Finn Wolfhard, Willem Dafoe, and the cutest lil’ puppet this side of Baby Yoda and it’s out now on demand after a brief theatrical run.
Wolfs, which originally premiered on Apple TV+ last fall, arrived on demand this week in case you’ve been patiently holding out for it. The crime comedy stars Brad Pitt and George Clooney as two fixers whose arrival to the same crime scene complicates and conflicts with each of their “lone wolf” personalities. (Hence the name!) Wolfs co-stars Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Poorna Jagannathan and Richard Kind.
