5 things to do this week: Crazy Days, movie in the park, live music and more

Movie at Edgewater Park
Families of all ages are invited to Edgewater Park Bandshell Friday for a free movie in the park. This month’s movie is “Harold and the Purple Crayon,” rated PG. The movie will begin at dusk, around 8 p.m. People can sit on the benches at the park or bring their own lawn chairs and blankets for a cozy movie night.

Geneva Days
Geneva Bar and Grill will host Geneva Days on Friday and Saturday. The event will include a softball tournament, beanbag tournament, kids activities and more. Live music will also be provided by Chain Lightning, Papa J, Mia Lillian and Steele Prairie. There will be concessions available at the city’s ballpark and refreshments for sale at the bar and grill. Conger Fire Department pork chop dinner
The Conger Fire Department will host its annual pork chop dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Conger Community Center. There will be pork chops, baked beans, potato salad and coleslaw. Cost is $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to 12 and children under 6 can have a free hotdog meal. Seating will be indoors where people can enjoy the air conditioning.

Live music by Brett Feist
Brett Feist will perform live music from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday at Scarville Bar. Feist plays a variety of different genres of music including outlaw country, ’70s pop and more.

Crazy Days
Celebrate Albert Lea’s Crazy Days Thursday through Saturday. Shop sales from local retailers throughout the weekend and enjoy food trucks and the Albert Lea Farmers Market on Saturday. Ron and Steve Unplugged will perform live music from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday as well.
