Following close behind Thomas Rhett, Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs and more, Conner Smith officially unleashes his contribution to the star-studded Twisters: The Album. The lively new track titled “Steal My Thunder” offers a roaring display of adrenaline pumping through the lyrics that are further elevated by the addition of Tucker Wetmore’s gritty vocals.

Penned by Smith with Ben Johnson, Blake Pendergrass and Matt Jenkins, the track marks the latest release to come from the musical companion to the new film, Twisters, from Universal Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, and Amblin Entertainment.

“Having the opportunity to be a part of the Twisters movie and album is a very cool honor,” shares Smith. “With such a high caliber group of artists featured on the project and an already iconic movie, being asked to write a song for it was creatively inspiring. Adding Tucker Wetmore to the song took it to a new level and I’m glad he was able to join us in bringing ‘Steal My Thunder’ to life.”

The pair of artists unite for a scorching display of love for their partners. Smith leads the opening of the track, setting each note on fire as he paints of picture of all the emotions he felt the moment he first laid eyes on this woman who stole his heart.

He sings, “I heard sirens first time I saw you smile/ Your mama couldn’t tame a little wild child/ Grew up riding that county line that you weren’t afraid to cross/ You’re the kinda girl that could tear up a town/ Hell up on a heart put your head in the clouds/ Set the radio onto rodeo and baby let’s take off/ It’s too late now to stop.”

Eventually, Wetmore joins in and they take turns hyping up the love interest while feeling confident in knowing she will easily be the one to have all eyes on her.

“Like lightning on my lips every time you kiss me 2 seconds flat heart’s 0-60/ Carry me away like the Mississippi rolls/ Gold sunset is my silver lining/ Bouncing off your eyes like a couple diamonds/ Levi jeans on the bench seat sliding close/ Hotter than a no A/C all summer/ Girl you stole my heart/ So steal my thunder,” the come together to sing on the chorus.

The new release was accompanied by an official visualizer that captures the emerging artists cruising through the countryside on a stormy day with the raindrops on the windshield of the pickup truck setting the perfect tone for the weathered tune.
