Disney+ Has To Release Another Taylor Swift Eras Tour Movie After Her New 15-Year-Old Surprise Song Performance

June 11, 20244 Mins Read

Summary

  • Taylor Swift’s success with The Eras Tour could drive Disney+ to release more concert content.
  • Swift surprised audiences by singing a mashup of “All of the Girls You Loved Before” and “Crazier” at her June 8 show in Scotland.
  • Swift’s performance of “Crazier,” which is from the Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack, might drive Disney+ to make another Eras Tour movie.

The success of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is neverending, and following Taylor Swift’s exciting performance during her surprise song set in Edinburgh, Scotland, on June 8, 2024, Disney+ has to release more concert content. Swift’s record-breaking movie and tour have taken over the world as the highest-grossing concert film and the highest-grossing concert tour, and as of the writing of this article, Swift is showing no signs of stopping. The Eras Tour runs until the end of 2024 (after beginning in March 2023), and the singer-songwriter continues finding new ways to surprise audiences, which should all be documented and released on Disney+.

Swift took a two-month break from The Eras Tour in early 2024 to promote her eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. When she returned, Swift added songs from the album to her setlist (and consequently cut performances from other “eras”). The Tortured Poets Department section of the updated setlist isn’t featured in Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour on Disney+, which is reason enough for the streaming service to add new content. However, Swift’s surprise song in Edinburgh should also motivate Disney+ to jump at the chance to release more videos from the tour (perhaps in a new film).

Taylor Swift Singing “Crazier” On The Eras Tour Makes Another Disney+ Movie Release More Likely

“Crazier” Is From The Hannah Montana Movie Soundtrack

As many know, Taylor Swift always performs at least two surprise songs during The Eras Tour, but she has been prone to singing and playing mashups as of late, and her show in Scotland on June 8 was no different. First, Swift performed a mashup of “The Bolter,” a song from The Tortured Poets Department, and “Getaway Car” from Reputation on the guitar. Then, the artist moved over to the piano, where she shockingly played a mashup of “All of the Girls You Loved Before,” an outtake from Lover, and “Crazier” from Hannah Montana: The Movie‘s soundtrack.

Swift had never played “Crazier” live before, and its presence in the surprise song set makes another Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie more likely on Disney+. Given that Swift co-wrote “Crazier” with Robert Ellis Orrall for Hannah Montana: The Movie, the Disney connection is obvious, but combined with Disney+ being the home for Taylor Swift: The Eras Movie, more released footage from the concert tour is very likely.

The Singer-Songwriter Co-Wrote “You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home”

Taylor Swift co-wrote “You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home” with Martin Johnson for Hannah Montana: The Movie. Even though Miley Cyrus performed it as Hannah Montana in the 2009 comedy-drama, Swift could feature “You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home” in one of her future surprise sets. It wouldn’t be the first time Swift has played songs she wrote for other artists (e.g. “This Is What You Came For” and “Babe”). If she performs the Hannah Montana: The Movie track at one of her upcoming shows, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour 2 is even more of a possibility.
