The long-awaited film adaptation of Wicked is just around the corner.
With the film’s release coming soon, the official tracklist to the soundtrack of the Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo-led project has just been revealed –– showcasing a total of 12 tracks to be reimagined for the highly-anticipated project. From the iconic “Defying Gravity” to the energetic “Popular,” the movie captures all the songs from the first act of the beloved Broadway musical. Featuring an all-star lineup of performers, Wicked stars Ariana Grande as Galinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, with Jeff Goldblum stepping into the role of the Wizard of Oz. The cast also includes Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Bowen Yang as Pfannee, Marissa Bode as NessaRose, Bronwyn James as ShenShen, Ethan Slater as Boq, and Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero. Notably, Peter Dinklage lends his voice to Dr. Dillamond, the goat professor.
Just recently, a brand-new trailer for the film was released last September –– showcasing more scenes, songs, and set pieces from the Jon M. Chu-directed adaptation. Wicked releases in Philippine cinemas this upcoming November 20, 2024 (Wednesday) with its official soundtrack scheduled to be released a few days later worldwide on November 22, 2024 (Friday).
