Thug Life, the highly anticipated project marks the reunion of master craftsman Mani Ratnam and legendary actor Kamal Haasan, after the iconic film Nayakan. The movie, touted to be a period action drama, features Silambarasan TR in a pivotal role, and Trisha Krishnan as the female lead. AR Rahman is reuniting with Mani Ratnam for the film, as the music composer. As per the recent updates, the Thug Life soundtrack is expected to have six songs.

If the recent updates are to be believed, Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman, the celebrated filmmaker-music composer duo of Tamil cinema, have designed a unique music album for their next outing, Thug Life. The soundtrack reportedly consists of six song numbers, that belong to different genres. The grapevine suggests that the Oscar-winning musician has pushed his limits yet again with the Thug Life music album. Apart from the songs, the movie’s soundtrack will also have unique theme music bits, dedicated to every important character.

As reported earlier, Kamal Haasan became a lyricist again for the upcoming Mani Ratnam directorial. In the ‘Legacy Of Love’ video featuring himself and his daughter Shruti Haasan, the multi-faceted talent revealed that he has teamed up with AR Rahman for a song in the Mani Ratnam directorial. Some unconfirmed reports also suggest that the song, which is touted to be an intense, literature-heavy number, is sung by the leading man, himself.

Along with Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan TR, and Trisha Krishnan, the highly anticipated project features a stellar star cast including Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Ashok Selvan, Nasser, Delhi Ganesh, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sanya Malhotra, Joju George, Jisshu Sengupta, Rohit Saraf, Vaiyapuri, and others in the pivotal roles. Ravi K Chandran is the director of photography. A Sreekar Prasad is the editor. Anbarivu duo handles the action choreography. Thug Life is jointly produced by Madras Talkies and RKFI.
