Joju George, a versatile actor who has risen from the ranks of a junior artist to a leading star adored by audiences across various languages, is set to make his directorial debut with the much-anticipated film ‘Pani’. The second song from the film, titled ‘Pani Anthem’, has just been released, with music composed and performed by the renowned South Indian composer Santhosh Narayanan. The film, a high-octane action-packed family entertainer, is scheduled to release in theatres on October 24, in five languages—Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
‘Pani Anthem’ has been crafted by Ken Royson, noted for his work on several viral music videos, and features rapper Arjun Sasi delivering an energetic performance. The song, with its dynamic lyrics and pulsating music, has already created a buzz among fans.

Joju George’s career, spanning over two decades, has seen him take on a wide variety of roles, garnering widespread acclaim for his performance in ‘Joseph’, a role that marked a turning point in his career. His ability to portray a spectrum of emotions, from laughter to sorrow, was further showcased in critically acclaimed films such as ‘Nayattu’ and ‘Iratta’. Joju has firmly established himself as a powerhouse in Malayalam cinema, and now, as he takes on the dual role of director and writer for ‘Pani’, the anticipation surrounding this new chapter in his career is palpable.
The excitement for ‘Pani’ began with the release of a captivating poster featuring the lead characters, labelled Giri and Gauri from ‘Pani’, alongside the song ‘Marannaadu Pullee…,’ both of which garnered significant attention on social media.
The film also marks the return of Abhinaya, a celebrated actress who is hearing and speech-impaired in real life. Having previously worked in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films, Abhinaya plays the heroine opposite Joju George, and her comeback to Malayalam cinema after a decade is eagerly awaited by fans. Her inspiring journey continues to break boundaries, and her presence in ‘Pani’ has already generated substantial excitement.
‘Pani’ features an ensemble cast, including Sagar, Junais, singer Abhaya Hiranmayi, Prasant Alexander, Sujith Shankar and over sixty debut actors. Filmed over 110 days, ‘Pani’ has been produced on an impressive scale, reflecting the ambitious nature of its storyline. This mass revenge thriller is produced by M Riyas Adam and Sijo Vadakkan under Joju George’s banner, Appu Paathu Papu Productions, in collaboration with AD Studios and Sri Gokulam Movies.
Bringing together top-tier talents from across the Indian film industry, ‘Pani’ also features music by Vishnu Vijay and Sam C S, with cinematography by Venu ISC and Jinto George. The distribution will be managed by Dream Big Films in association with Sri Gokulam Movies.
