Movie Songs

What is the best use of a song in a movie?

A great song can be the difference between a scene being iconic and forgettable. Some song choices are so memorable that they will always be associated with the scene and movie, such as “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” by Simple Minds and The Breakfast Club. I think the best example of this is “The Times They Are A-Changin’” by Bob Dylan, which was used in the opening credits of Watchmen. They are one of the most memorable opening credits in film history, and the Bob Dylan song was perfectly chosen as it follows the Watchmen through changing times.
