Director-choreographer Farah Khan revealed that she got heavily drunk at a party she hosted for singer Ed Sheeran. On ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’, Farah and host Kapil Sharma discussed one of the parties she organised for Ed. Kapil mentioned that Farah once invited Ed but failed to recognise him. Farah clarified that she did recognise Ed but not his songs.
Kapil said, “Farah is such a great host that sometimes, she invites guests and then fails to recognise them. Once, Ed Sheeran had visited her. She didn’t recognise him.”
“No, I recognised him, that’s not true. When Ed Sheeran had come, we all got a little drunk. The DJ was playing something. In my inebriated state, I went up to the DJ and abused him a little. I asked him, ‘Kya maiyyat ke gaane baja raha hai (Why are you playing these funeral songs)’. The DJ replied, ‘Ma’am, I am playing Ed Sheeran songs.’ I said, ‘Ok then, carry on,’” she said and started laughing.
Ed Sheeran has visited India a few times, with Farah hosting him twice. The first party was in 2017, attended by Bollywood stars like Malaika Arora, Abhishek Bachchan, and Shah Rukh Khan.
Recently, Farah and Shah Rukh hosted a dinner party for Ed at Shah Rukh’s Bandra home, Mannat, with videos and photos from the event going viral. Ed also appeared on ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ and spoke about his meeting with Shah Rukh Khan, praising him as a nice person and sharing how they had a great time together.
