Deepfake JAMES BOND Trailer Drums Up Interest in Henry Cavill-Led Movie
By Movieguide® Contributor
A deepfake trailer for a theoretical JAMES BOND movie starring Henry Cavill and Margot Robbie made rounds on YouTube, causing many to wonder what it would take to make a real movie with the actor.
The fake trailer has generated over 2.6 million views in under a week, with many fans enjoying the concept and hoping it will become a reality.
“Please note that this video is a concept trailer created solely for artistic and entertainment purposes,” creator KHStudio noted in the video description. “I have meticulously incorporated various effects, sound design, AI technologies, movie analytics, and other elements to bring my vision to life.”
“Its purpose is purely artistic, aiming to entertain and engage with the YouTube community. My goal is to showcase my creativity and storytelling skills through this trailer,” the note continued. “Thank you for your support, and let’s dive into the world of imagination.”
With JAMES BOND producers reportedly looking for a new actor to take over the role, many fans have hoped Henry Cavill would be tapped to play the iconic spy. Cavill, however, has no word on his chances, though he has auditioned for the role in the past.
“I have no idea,” Cavill told THE RICH EISEN SHOW, per The Hollywood Reporter. “All I’ve got to go off is the rumors. The same information you have. Maybe I’m too old now, maybe I’m not. It’s up to [producers] Barbra Broccoli and Mike Wilson and we’ll see what their plans are.”
However, Cavill would fit the role, having played multiple spies in the past. His roles in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE: FALLOUT, THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E and ARGYLLE would all prove his ability for the role, along with his upcoming movie, THE MINISTRY OF UNGENTLEMANLY WARFARE, in which he plays a British government agent.
Movieguide® previously reported on Cavill:
MAN OF STEEL actor Henry Cavill shared why he’s “not a fan” of sex scenes.
While on the “Happy, Sad, Confused” podcast, the actor stated he doesn’t “understand them [sex scenes].
“I think sometimes they’re overused these days,” he said. “It’s when you have a sense that you’re going, ‘Is this really necessary or is it just people with less clothing on?’”
Cavill added, “That’s when you start to get more uncomfortable, and you’re thinking, ‘There’s not a performance here. There’s not a piece which is going to carry through to the rest of the movie.’”
