A new trailer for Jurassic World: Chaos Theory has been released, revealing plenty of references to the original Jurassic Park movie as the story of Camp Cretaceous continues. Set many years after the events of the original animated series, the show features familiar characters alongside a new story set on the mainland. The series was confirmed at Netflix’s Geeked Week in 2023, with Darius returning as a key character.
Now, Jurassic World has released an official trailer for Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, revealing what to expect from the Netflix animated spinoff sequel.
The trailer reveals that a key character from Camp Cretaceous, Brooklynn, is dead, seemingly targeted by a conspiracy now going after the other survivors from the show. It contains plenty of references to the first Jurassic Park, including familiar music and dinosaur designs. The end of the trailer shows Darius running from an Allosaurus while holding an object, similar to a scene between Dr. Alan Grant and a T-Rex involving a flare from the first movie.
Everything Jurassic World: Chaos Theory’s Trailer Reveals About The Show
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous ended with the group of young island survivors finally getting home, while also tying the show’s Mantah Corp to Jurassic World: Dominion‘s BioSyn. This made the series feel like an integral part of the franchise, explaining elements of the movies while also telling a story that stands alone compared to the existing film trilogy. The same approach seems like it will happen in Chaos Theory, which pulls from dinosaurs now roaming the world in order to set up its own story.
Given how much older the characters are now, it’s safe to assume the show takes place some time during or after the events of Dominion, especially since dinosaurs are now free across the planet. The series is also expected to tackle a conspiracy, much like the first series, with the added stake of Brooklynn seemingly deceased. With the team now down a member, it appears the consequences of their investigation could be dire, hinting Chaos Theory will be a darker story than what’s come before.
Since the show is being released later this year, it’s possible the series will hint at what to expect from Jurassic World 4 ahead of its release. While the series won’t be required viewing to understand the upcoming movie, whatever happens throughout its story could clue audiences in on how the next mainline entry in the franchise is going to go. With a dark conspiracy afoot and one of the group members now dead, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory is shaping up to be a memorable follow-up to Camp Cretaceous.
