The Woman in the Yard is an exciting and terrifying upcoming Blumhouse horror movie that will be in theaters soon, and fans can check out the trailer.
Drop is particularly exciting because of its director, Christopher Landon, who is a horror movie veteran. From the trailer, Landon’s signature sense of humor is present as the babysitter asks Violet, “Did you mean to dress like a candy cane?” Then, when Violet shows up at the restaurant, she tells her date she got a drink “because I was nervous.” While the date is going well, Violet and Henry realize something cruel is at work as she begins getting drops from someone, and she has no idea what’s going on. As the trailer says, “If you break the rules, somebody gets hurt.”
Blumhouse is having a great 2025 so far as Wolf Man is doing well at the box office. The practical effects of Wolf Man are just one reason to check it out. There’s no doubt that Drop looks just as chilling as Wolf Man although, of course, for different reasons. Like other Blumhouse movies, Drop looks like it tells a fascinating story beyond just the classic horror or thriller elements. Violet feels guilty about leaving her son but wants to go on this date, start a new relationship, and do something for herself. She’s dealing with a lot of complicated emotions, and now she has to fight for her survival as well.
While horror fans still hope Landon will make Happy Death Day 3, they at least can look forward to his new movie Drop. Besides Happy Death Day and Happy Death Day 2 U, Landon wrote and directed the body swapping slasher movie Freaky and the Netflix movie We Have A Ghost starring David Harbour. Landon also co-wrote Heart Eyes, the upcoming Spyglass film starring Mason Gooding. All of Landon’s movies have silly and fun moments along with genuinely frightening ones, and that blend is what makes him a celebrated and distinct filmmaker.
Drop will be in theaters on April 11th, 2025 and fans can see what happens to Violet, Henry, and the other characters who have been put in a dire situation.
