A new Harry Potter & The Cursed Child trailer concept borrows from the original movies. Based on the stage play and J.K. Rowling’s book by the same name, a potential Cursed Child movie has been a continuous question for Rowling and Warner Bros. Discovery. The original Harry Potter movies made an incredible $7.8 billion at the box office on a combined budget of $1.2 billion. After the franchise ended in 2011 with Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows — Part 2, it has been a long wait to see a revival through the pre-written sequel.
Tired of the long wait for a confirmation, KH Studio put together a Cursed Child trailer that advertises a 2025 release date. Check it out below:
The trailer features clips from the Harry Potter movies, as well as footage from some of Radcliffe’s other works. It features a worried Harry searching for his child, while Lord Voldemort returns from the grave to haunt him. The trailer ends with a fan-made logo celebrating the fictional release. The description emphasizes that it is a trailer made for artistic reasons alone.
A Cursed Child Movie Is Unlikely
The TV Show Is The Latest Focus For Harry Potter
As thrilling as a Cursed Child movie would be, the cast has already expressed its distaste for the idea of reprising their roles. While they did return for the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special, only a few showed any interest in returning for a full movie revival. Radcliffe, in particular, has repeatedly emphasized that he would prefer decades away from the franchise, as he is “getting to a point where I feel like I made it out of Potter okay” after spending his childhood on the project.

What’s Next For The Harry Potter Franchise?
The Wizarding World seems to be over, but the Harry Potter franchise continues to expand with a show – what’s next? Here’s what could happen.
There are other members of the cast who have expressed interest. Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) are both excited at the prospect of returning. No such sequel movie has been confirmed, though, as Warner Bros. Discovery has shown no interest in pursuing the project. For years, the focus was instead on the Fantastic Beasts franchise. After its recent collapse, however, Warner Bros. Discovery and author J.K. Rowling have turned their attention to the upcoming Harry Potter TV show instead.
The show will feature an all-new cast and be a complete reboot of the franchise in a new medium. Instead of a revival, the old cast will be excluded from production, providing new actors with the opportunity to play their roles without the additional pressure of living up to legends who are present on-set. While a Harry Potter & The Cursed Child movie would be a thrilling return to the Wizarding World, it will likely be years before the studio even entertains the option.
