Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for new coming-of-age drama A Part of You, starring Young Royals actor Edvin Ryding and Zara Larsson.
Felicia Maxime, who was also in Young Royals, plays lead character Agnes.
The Swedish film centres on Agnes, who is envious of her older sister Julia (Larsson). Julia is the most popular person in school and is dating Noel (Ryding).
The official synopsis continues: “When the worst possible thing occurs, Agnes’ world is turned upside down and she’s forced to reinvent herself. Suddenly, she’s on the verge of obtaining everything she’s ever desired, but at what cost?”

The trailer sees Agnes struggling to navigate life and school in her sister’s shadow, before her life starts to spiral on her climb up the social ladder after a tragedy occurs.
“That night, you don’t know what happened,” says Noel, before the footage cuts to a car swerving in the middle of a road.
“Every day, I wake up wishing that I’d done something,” he adds, to which Agnes cuttingly replies: “But you didn’t.”
Written by Michaela Hamilton and directed by Sigge Eklund, A Part of You also stars Ida Engvoll, Mustafa Al-Mashhadani, Alva Bratt, Emil Hedayat, Olivia Essén and Nikki Hanseblad.

Maxime and Ryding previously worked together on Netflix’s Swedish-language series Young Royals, with the pair playing Prince Wilhelm and Stella, respectively.
The hit series came to an end after three seasons earlier year, much to the heartbreak of fans.
However, head writer and co-creator Lisa Ambjörn confirmed to Gay Times that the story was always imagined in three parts, adding: “Because of the fans’ dedication to our story, we get to tell the last one.”
A Part of You will be released on Netflix on May 31.
