It starts with the mother daughter duo, who settle in a village called Chandrapur. While Kajol’s character warns the daughter about roaming around in the village, she does it nonetheless. The little girl becomes a prey to mythological powers, who begin to harm her and other teenage girls in the village. Upon knowing so, Kajol tries to protect her daughter, while going through hurdles to bring her back from the clutches of a ‘daitya’, which means monster.

At the trailer launch, R Madhavan announced the release of Maa. It is not confirmed whether his character in Shaitaan would make a cameo in the movie but the makers have asked the audience to keep their hopes up. However, nothing concrete was confirmed regarding the same. Madhavan and Kajol take the stage as Shaitaan and Maa, hinting at the expansion of their horror verse.

Ajay Devgn opened up about casting Kajol in the role of Maa. He noted that he wanted to make a mythological horror, as it hasn’t been attempted in India before. Ajay further added that he wanted to explore the genre and bring forth stories that the audience has been missing out on.

The movie is slated to release on June 27, 2025. Apart from Kajol, it also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, Shuvankar, Jitin Gulati and more in leading roles. It has been directed by Vishal Furia of Chhorii and Chhorii 2 fame.
