Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes on Wednesday released the trailer for Drop, the mystery thriller directed by Happy Death Day and Freaky helmer Christopher Landon. The film hits theaters via Universal on April 11.
Meghann Fahy plays Violet, a widow with a young son who is returning to the dating scene. Her first date is with Henry (Brandon Sklenar, It Ends with Us) at a swanky restaurant. Things are going well … until anonymous threats start lighting up her phone from somewhere in the room, threatening that her family will be killed if she doesn’t kill Henry.
Ed Weeks, Violett Beane and Jacob Robinson also star.
Jillian Jacobs & Chris Roach (Truth or Dare, Fantasy Island) penned the script for the movie, which is produced by Jason Blum for Blumhouse and Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller for Platinum Dunes. Ron Lynch and Sam Lerner are executive producers.
The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal. The companies previously teamed on the Purge franchise that includes five films (with a sixth on the way) as well as a TV series.
