Although Dhoni doesn’t appear directly in the trailer, a wall at Rajkummar’s store proudly displays a larger-than-life image of the celebrated former captain, alongside other cricket icons such as Sachin Tendulkar, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, Smriti Mandhana and Dinesh Karthik. The trailer has received an overwhelmingly positive response from fans and the Bollywood community alike. Following the trailer launch event, Janhvi who was seen dazzling in a red and blue saree, told the media that she dislocated both her shoulders learning cricket for the film. In 2022, the Milli actor, told Bollywood Hungama, “I know that’s going to be another memorable experience. I’ve already dislocated my shoulder twice while playing cricket,” as she revealed the amount of hard work she was putting into preparing for the role which demands her to play the sport.

Mr and Mrs Mahi marks the second collaboration between Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, following their stint in the 2021 horror thriller Roohi. The film also features a stellar ensemble cast, including Abhishek Banerjee, Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra, Zarina Wahab, and Purnendu Bhattacharya. Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, along with Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, under Dharma Productions, Mr and Mrs Mahi has been generating buzz since its announcement in November 2021.

Last year, Karan had taken to his social media handle to announce the film. “One dream, chased by two hearts.
