Seth Rogen Wants Zombie Diarrhea Explosion in Movie

February 7, 20253 Mins Read

Seth Rogen, the head of the fictional Continental Studios, wants a graphic diarrhea explosion kept in one of his movies in a new trailer for Apple TV+’s The Studio comedy.

The trailer, which dropped on Friday, sees Rogen as Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of the fictional movie studio at the center of the Apple series, and his team of fellow creatives as they battle over whether to keep a graphic scene where a zombie infects a character, played by Josh Hutcherson, with his deadly flatulence in their teaser trailer titled Duhpocalypse.

Duhpocalypse is the studio’s movie-within-the-series, a new zombie comedy thriller starring Hutcherson and Johnny Knoxville (coming to theaters this summer).

“It’s true. It’s a very deep and complex film. But I want that diarrhea explosion in the trailer,” Rogen’s character says in the trailer, which is set around a boardroom table.

The Studio, which premieres March 26 on Apple TV+, features a range of movie studio execs juggling corporate demands with creative ambitions.

Here’s the logline: “As movies struggle to stay alive and relevant, Matt and his core team of infighting executives battle their own insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films. With their power suits masking their neverending sense of panic, every party, set visit, casting decision, marketing meeting, and award show presents them with an opportunity for glittering success or career-ending catastrophe. As someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes movies, it’s the job Matt’s been pursuing his whole life, and it may very well destroy him.”

The series stars Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, Bryan Cranston, Keyla Monterroso Mejia and Dewayne Perkins. The Lionsgate Television series was created by Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory.

The new trailer follows the show’s creative Golden Globes spot, which featured Rogen and O’Hara lamenting red carpet influencers at their Golden Globes awards show, ahead of the actual awards show.

Rogen shares The Studio credits with Huyck, Gregory and Evan Goldberg. Point Grey Pictures’ James Weaver, Alex McAtee and Josh Fagen also serve as executive producers alongside Rogen and Goldberg.

The series marks the latest collaboration for Apple TV+ and Rogen.

This story has been corrected; the ad will not debut during the Super Bowl.
