Megan Fox plays an AI creation that gets a little bit defensive in sci-fi thriller Subservience: here’s the trailer.
The post-Transformers career of Megan Fox – and permit me to get a recommendation for Jennifer’s Body in the first sentence of this story by the way – has seen her gravitate towards lower profile but often more interesting productions. Quite where her latest project, Subservience, is going to fit in? Couldn’t tell you, but a trailer has landed to give us a few clues.
Megan Fox co-stars with Michele Morrone in the film, and here, she’s playing an AI creation who runs a little bit amok. Could be quite fun this, the natural progression of the robot from Rocky IV, if it went a little bit mad.
S K Dale has directed Subservience, which is based on a screenplay penned by April Maguire and Will Honley. And the trailer for the film looks something like this…
There’s a synopsis to go with it too, and that read as follows…
A struggling father, played by Michele Morrone (The Next 365 Days) buys a domestic AI (Megan Fox – Transformers) to help run the household. But the situation soon turns deadly when the lifelike robot develops an obsessive attachment to her new owner. Driven by a twisted sense of loyalty, she becomes determined to eliminate what she perceives as the true threat to his happiness: his family.
Subservience isn’t going to be troubling the inside of a UK cinema by the looks of things, but it is coming to digital services to rent from 13th September in the UK, and further video on demand services from 20th September. Vertigo Releasing is the firm that’s acquired the movie for UK release, and hence, here we all are.
Curious to take a look at Subservience, and happy to wager that it’ll be better than a Michael Bay-directed Transformers sequel….
