In February 2024, we heard the big news that the project was getting an anime adaptation, and now, the anime film has already left us speechless with its official trailer.

Coming from the Chainsaw Man author, Look Back is a one-shot manga that will arrive on the big screens in Japan on June 28, 2024. The film is directed by the man who gave the anime industry masterpieces like The Boy and The Heron and the mini-series, Devilman: Crybaby. Yes, I’m talking about the Kiyotaka Oshiyama. So, it’s no wonder the visuals of the forthcoming anime film look so appealing to our eyes.

The trailer of the anime features a 2D-style animation, and the entire trailer will give you a Mob Psycho 100 vibe. In the trailer, you can see the titular characters struggling to keep their dream of drawing manga alive.

After watching the trailer, it’s safe to say that the adaptation will be a sure shot hit and will win the hearts of the millions.

Moreover, the spectacular animation and artwork don’t let you take your eyes off the screens even for a second. That’s all because of the incredible team of Studio Durian that left no stone unturned to animate the film so smoothly.

The one-shot manga featuring 143 chapters arrived in Shuesha’s Shonen Jump magazine and the official website in 2021. The following year, its English-translated version was licensed by Viz Media.

Look Back’s story revolves around two elementary school students, Ayumu Fujino and Kyomoto, who love drawing mangas. From being rivals to working as a team, the film will make fans realize the importance of teamwork and friendships. The anime film will feature several heartbreaking yet beautiful moments that we’ll be talking about for a long time.

On top of that, it will expose anime fans to another story from Chainsaw Man’s author, making everyone appreciate the range of Tatsuki Fujimoto.
