NEON has premiered the new trailer for writer/director Pablo Berger’s “Robot Dreams,” an Oscar-nominated animated movie that is finally coming to cinemas next month.
Dog lives in Manhattan, and he’s tired of being alone. One day, he decides to build himself a robot and a companion.
Their friendship blossoms until they become inseparable, to the rhythm of New York City in 1984. One summer night, Dog, with great sadness, is forced to abandon Robot at the beach.
The Spanish/French animated tragicomedy feature, based on the 2007 comic of the same name by Sara Varon, has been playing the festival circuit to rave reviews.
Premiering at Cannes last year, it scored Best Independent Animated Feature at the 51st Annie Awards and won the Goya Award for Best Animated Film and the European Film Award for Best Animated Film.
There’s no actors mentioned in conjunction with the project because the entire film features no dialogue. NEON will release the film in cinemas on May 31st.
