Netflix has released the adrenaline-pumping first teaser trailer for ‘The Rip,’ the highly anticipated crime thriller from writer-director Joe Carnahan (Smokin’ Aces, The Grey). The film will launch globally on the streamer on 16th January 2026.

Starring Academy Award winners Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, alongside Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Sasha Calle, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Scott Adkins, and Kyle Chandler, The Rip sets the stage for a gritty tale of greed, loyalty, and betrayal.

The teaser wastes no time in setting the stakes. Opening on a grimy, derelict stash house in Miami, a squad of cops makes a shocking discovery: millions in cash piled high, hidden away and long forgotten. What begins as the biggest bust of their careers quickly spirals into paranoia and suspicion. With the promise of fortune gnawing at their loyalty, trust fractures, and the true threat may not come from the criminals outside—but from within their own ranks.
