The new Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8 promo trailer teases the final chapter of Chris Smith’s multiversal struggle. The season has steadily raised the stakes with betrayals, shifting alliances, and threats that stretch across alternate worlds. Episode 7 ended with Chris surrendering to A.R.G.U.S. and Keith vowing revenge, setting up a finale that will decide the fate of Earth-X and the DCU.
Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8 trailer previews the finale
The trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8, titled “Full Nelson,” previews the highly anticipated finale. The footage shows Christopher Smith, also known as Peacemaker, back behind bars. He declares, “I’m the angel of f***ing death,” while Rick Flag Sr. leads a mission to explore the Quantum Unfolding Chamber’s alternate realities. A.R.G.U.S. drives its own agenda, but the trailer depicts the team questioning whether those motives can be trusted.
The preview builds on the fallout from Episode 7. That episode revealed Chris and his team landed on Earth-X, a world where the Nazis won World War II. Chris briefly embraced the illusion of a better life with his father August and brother Keith still alive. The truth, however, drove him to surrender to A.R.G.U.S. His choice puts him in prison and at the center of the multiversal crisis. Keith survives the events and vows revenge.
James Gunn confirmed that Season 2 functions as a prequel to Superman: Man of Tomorrow (2027). The finale positions Flag Sr.’s alliance with Lex Luthor as a key link to the wider DCU. Fans expect Captain Triumph and other multiversal threats to collide with Chris and his allies as they traverse the chamber’s shifting realities.
When asked about a third season, Gunn said, “It is not right now. I think that people should—that doesn’t mean there aren’t plans for these characters, but it’s not necessarily Season 3 of Peacemaker. And then people should watch Episode 8 to see what happens, because maybe some of your questions will be answered in that episode by itself” (via Collider).
The Peacemaker Season 2 finale, “Full Nelson,” premieres on HBO Max on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 9:00 p.m. ET. It stars John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Frank Grillo, Sol Rodríguez, David Denman, Brey Noelle, and Tim Meadows.
