Chennai: The trailer of Pradeep Ranganathan’s upcoming Tamil film ‘Dude’ dropped on Thursday and quickly went viral, crossing nearly four lakh views within three hours of release. With a lively mix of romance, action, comedy, and emotion, the trailer suggests a festive entertainer arriving just in time for Diwali on October 17.
The film marks Ranganathan’s return after the success of ‘Dragon’, which cemented his reputation as one of Tamil cinema’s most bankable young stars. The trailer is packed with fast-paced visuals, humour, and youthful energy. Ranganathan stars opposite Mamitha Baiju, who makes her Tamil debut, while veteran actor R Sarathkumar plays a pivotal role. The film’s Kerala distribution is handled by E4 Entertainments.
Music composer Sai Abhyankar’s songs for Dude have already created a buzz online. The first single ‘Oorum Blood’ has surpassed 40 million views on YouTube, while ‘Nallaru Po’ and ‘Singkari’ have recorded 4.1 million and 8.7 million views respectively. Fans have praised the trailer for carrying Ranganathan’s trademark charm and youthful appeal.
Ranganathan, who started his career making short films before turning director with ‘Komali’ and ‘Love Today’, enjoys a dedicated fan base for his relatable storytelling style. His recent acting turns in ‘Love Today’ and ‘Dragon’ were widely appreciated, raising expectations for his latest outing.
‘Dude’ is written and directed by Keerthiswaran and produced by Yerneni and Y. Ravishankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. The supporting cast includes Neha Shetty, Hridhu Haroon, Satya, Rohini, Dravid Selvam, Aishwarya Sharma, and Garuda Ram. Cinematography is by Niketh Bommi, with Bharat Vikraman handling editing.
