New Movies & Shows To Stream This Weekend: The Witcher, I Love LA, King & Conqueror + More
All three shows on our must-watch list this week take place in places that can seem foreign and mysterious: on Netflix, there’s The Witcher, the Netflix series that takes place on the fictional land known as The Continent, while King & Conqueror on Prime Video is set in England during the Middle Ages. And then of course there’s HBO Max’s new series I Love LA which is set in that city unlike any other, Los Angeles. All three shows premiere this week, here’s what you need to know to watch.
New on Netflix October 30: The Witcher (Season 4)
We’ve known for a while now that Liam Hemsworth would be taking over for Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia on The Witcher, and now we can finally see what he does with the role. Season 4 of The Witcher, which consists of eight episodes, is out now on Netflix (and was shot back-to-back with a fifth and final season, no word on precisely when those episodes will drop). The fourth and fifth seasons adapt the last three books in Andrzej Sapkowski’s book series: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow and Lady of the Lake.
New on HBO Max November 2: I Love LA
I Love LA was created by Rachel Sennott, who also writes and stars in the show about a group of friends living in L.A. and reuniting after time apart. The cast includes Josh Hutcherson, Odessa A’zion, True Whitaker, and Jordan Firstman, with guest spots from Leighton Meester, who is gracing all the shows with her delightful presence these days, Elijah Wood and Froy Gutierrez. The show’s eight episodes will air weekly on Sundays.
King & Conqueror first premiered on the BBC this past summer, and now the show is headed to the U.S. this weekend, making its debut on Prime Video. The historical drama, which stars James Norton and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau depicts the period in 11th-century England leading up to the Norman Conquest of the country. The entire series will be available on Nov. 1.
