Janhvi Kapoor is gearing up for her next release Mr & Mrs Mahi with Rajkummar Rao. The film is set to hit screens on May 31. Well, on Friday the actress was spotted attending the match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium. She was spotted cheering for Mumbai Indians and promoting her film too.

In the video, shared by Viral Bhayani, we can see Janhvi Kapoor wearing a blue colour top and denim. On her top ‘Mahi’ was written on it and the back of the tee featured the phrase “Cricket is life Aur Life is Cricket.” She was seen cheering and clapping for the MI team. Well, ahead of the match, she also shared a post on her Instagram handle reading, “Mahi’s day out… Mr. Mahi missed you there @rajkummar_rao.” Suhana Khan, AbRam, Shanaya Kapoor, and Ananya Panday, accompanied by Chunky Panday and Sanjay Kapoor were also present among others for the match.

According to a source close to the entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama, the trailer for ‘Mr And Mrs Mahi’ is scheduled for release in the second week of May, with the exact date to be confirmed shortly. Following the trailer launch, the songs will be unveiled as part of a three-week campaign leading up to the film’s premiere.

The source revealed, “The trailer of Mr And Mrs Mahi will be out in the second week of May. The final date will be locked in a couple of days. After the trailer, the songs will be unveiled. The idea is to have a compact campaign of around three weeks.”

Rajkummar Rao will also be seen in another May release titled ‘Srikanth,’ where the trailer for ‘Mr And Mrs Mahi’ is anticipated to accompany its release, “Rajkummar will have one more release in May – Srikanth. The trailer of Mr And Mrs Mahi is expected to arrive around the release of this film,” the source added.

In Mr & Mrs Mahi, Rajkummar will be portraying the character of Mahendra Singh Dhoni while Janhvi would essay the role of a character called Mahima. In an interview with Mid-Day, Janhvi had earlier revealed that she underwent a gruelling six months of intensive training in order to adapt to the mannerisms of a cricketer. The actress had said, “It was an exhaustive process of six months to get into the skin of the character and sync into the role.”

Directed by Sharan Sharma, known for his debut with ‘Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl (2020), Mr And Mrs Mahi will mark Janhvi Kapoor’s fourth theatrical release, following Dhadak (2018), Roohi (2021), and Mili (2022). She is set to star in two more films this year, the political thriller ‘Ulajh’ and the Pan India project ‘Devara’ alongside Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan. For Rajkummar Rao, after ‘Srikanth’ and ‘Mr And Mrs Mahi,’ his upcoming 2024 releases include ‘Stree 2′ and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
