The Life of Chuck Received High Praise From Its Stars

When announcing the film wrapped production, Tom Hiddleston compared The Life of Chuck to Shawshank Redemption, one of King’s most beloved and revered adaptations. He said during an appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast “What I love about this material and the short stories out there, was it seemed to be resonant of the Stephen King who wrote The Shawshank Redemption,” Hiddleston said. “There’s a warmth and a kind of spirit that’s really on the side of life in the story, that I really connected to when I read it. It was just the most extraordinary script. I connected to it immediately. So when we met, I just said ‘This is amazing. Can I come and do it? Can I please come and do it?’ And yeah, and we had a great time.”

Fellow Marvel star, Karen Gillan from the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, had nothing but praise for the upcoming film, calling it a “masterpiece.” Reuniting with Flanagan after starring in 2013’s Oculus, hyped the film when speaking to Collider, and noted, “It was so nice to be reunited with him, and I can’t wait for everyone to see that film because it’s a masterpiece.
